Campus Maintenance 2025-2026 Job Title: Campus Maintenance Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt Reports to: Grounds Foreman Pay Grade: 7 Dept. /School: Facilities Days: 247 Primary Purpose: Refer to major responsibilities and duties Education/ Qualifications: High school diploma or GED Valid Texas Driver’s License Special Knowledge/Skills: General working knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance and installation techniques General working knowledge of plumbing repairs, maintenance and installation techniques Fluent in English; written and orally Ability to perform mathematical calculations Ability to Diagnose and resolve problems Ability to use hand and power tools Major Responsibilities and Duties: Perform general maintenance on heating/ air conditioning units Replace burned out ballasts Repair minor plumbing leaks and problems Receive and/or generate work orders from campus administrators and complete in a timely manner Make necessary repairs to broken lockers and assist students with jammed lockers when requested by office staff Make necessary electrical repairs to, but not limited to, switches, wall plugs etc. Ability to follow instructions and be able to prioritize and analyze work orders Ability to operate hand and power tools using good safety practices Ability to maintain and demonstrate an attitude of quality service, teamwork, public relation and communicate well with co-workers, supervisors and district employees at the various facility sites Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities: None Working Conditions: Mental Demands/ Physical Demands/ Environmental Factors: The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, move throughout the room and/ or facility, and communicate verbally and electronically. Use hands and fingers to handle tools. Able to reach with arms and hands, stoop, kneel, and crouch or crawl, climb, balance and drive. Must be able to lift or exert force of up to 100 pounds Specific vision abilities are required for this position Must be able to handle environmental characteristics of this job which are but not limited to: Noise levels ranging from moderate to high Handle moving mechanical parts and equipment Handle outdoor weather conditions Equipment Used: Common equipment such as (but not limited to): screw drivers, plyers, hose clamps, extension cords, and ladders
