About The Position

Crisis Services is looking to add full-time and part-time Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Campus Advocates to our Advocate Department's Case Management and Prevention Team. We are seeking professionals with public health, human services, social work, or education degrees who are interested in supporting our mission to provide support to anyone in need. The Advocate Department of Crisis Services is Erie County's Rape Crisis Center and a licensed Non-Residential Domestic Violence Service Provider in New York State. The Department provides comprehensive victim services to individuals who have experienced sexual assault, domestic violence, family violence and/or elder abuse. Campus Advocates provide crisis intervention, case management, advocacy, and follow-up services to a small caseload of survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and/or stalking across local college campus. They collaborate with police (campus and local), district attorneys, and other campus-based and/or community-based agencies to serve student and staff survivors. This position is also responsible for developing and implementing data-driven prevention education curricula, as well as social media content, to promote social norms and build capacity to foster a community of hopefulness, safety, and shared responsibility to prevent interpersonal violence across the Social Ecological Model (SEM).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree from an accredited college and/or university in human service field, public health, social work or education.
  • A minimum of 6 months' relevant work experience preferably providing direct services in domestic/sexual violence response and/or prevention work.
  • Valid NYS driver's license is required with a clean driving record and access to reliable automobile.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in public speaking, community education, or training facilitation strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work with and mobilize a wide variety of stakeholders and experience in higher education a plus.
  • Experience relating to and engaging with diverse populations in a variety of settings.
