About The Position

Facilitate individual, family, and group counseling with sexual assault/abuse and domestic violence survivors in order to alleviate the trauma of sexual abuse and/or domestic violence and to work toward achieving more effective personal, social, educational, and vocational development and adjustment.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in clinical psychology, social work or counseling required.
  • Must maintain a safe driving record and have current valid Illinois Driver's License.
  • Personal vehicle needed for transportation to/from agency offices in Hickory Hills and Berwyn.
  • Mileage for authorized work-related purposes is reimbursable.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with trauma survivors preferred.
  • Knowledge and/or training in areas of sexual assault and/or domestic violence preferred.
  • IL 60-hour domestic violence/sexual assault training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain caseload and deliver quantity of direct service as suggested by program administrators and program funders.
  • Through in-person interview with clients and significant others assesses clients' safety concerns, mental health status and other relevant information in order to determine the scope of the client/family need for service as it relates to their experience of sexual assault and/or domestic violence.
  • Apprise each client of the services available both within the organization and in the community at large which might address clients' needs.
  • Develop and review at regular intervals with client, their treatment plan related to the client's presenting issue, safety needs, strengths, and resources.
  • Inform each client of their rights and responsibilities as a client.
  • Refer clients to outside resources as appropriate.
  • Provide crisis intervention for clients as needed throughout the duration of services.
  • Maintain collateral contracts with others as needed with client's explicit authorization.
  • Document all clinical activity in accordance with program policy which can include an intake form, progress notes, treatment plan, treatment plan reviews, trauma symptom surveys/checklists and termination summary.
  • Comply with agency and program funding requirements such as administrative/statistical reporting including submitting personnel activity reports (PARs), direct service reports and timecards in a timely fashion.
  • Participate in professional development programs or training as required by agency policy or licensing standards.
  • Other duties are assigned.
