Job Summary: The Campground Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the campground, ensuring an exceptional guest experience while maintaining safe, efficient, and well-organized facilities. This role provides leadership to campground staff, manages reservations and financial transactions, coordinates events and activities, and enforces campground rules and policies. The Campground Manager serves as the primary point of contact for guests and is accountable for operational performance, customer satisfaction, and overall campground success.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in campground, hospitality, property management, or a related customer-facing operations role.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management capacity, including staff oversight, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Strong customer service and guest relations skills, with the ability to handle escalated situations calmly and professionally.
  • Experience managing reservations, bookings, and payment processing using computer-based reservation or property management systems.
  • Comfortable using email, office software, and operational systems to manage daily communications and reporting.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage events, activities, or programming for guests or community members.
  • Working knowledge of basic facility maintenance, groundskeeping, and operational oversight.
  • Ability to enforce campground rules and policies consistently while maintaining a positive guest environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Availability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by campground operations.
  • Ability to walk the property daily and perform light physical activities related to campground operations.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all guest interactions to ensure a welcoming, professional, and high-quality experience for current and prospective guests.
  • Manage campground reservations, bookings, and cancellations using designated reservation and property management systems.
  • Address and resolve guest questions, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for guest-related issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Provide guests with campground information, local area recommendations, and clear communication regarding policies and amenities.
  • Oversee front desk operations, including phone calls, emails, online reservations, and in-person inquiries.
  • Ensure accurate processing of payments, refunds, and deposits in accordance with company policies.
  • Monitor daily cash handling, transaction accuracy, and reporting.
  • Maintain organized records related to reservations, guest communications, and financial activity.
  • Oversee daily campground operations to ensure facilities, restrooms, bathhouses, and common areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
  • Coordinate groundskeeping activities including mowing, trimming, landscaping, trash removal, and general upkeep.
  • Ensure delivery of guest services such as firewood, ice, and other campground amenities.
  • Identify maintenance needs, perform minor repairs when appropriate, and coordinate with vendors or maintenance teams for larger issues.
  • Supervise, train, and support campground staff, including associates and seasonal employees.
  • Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Promote a positive, guest-focused team culture aligned with company values.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee campground events and activities to enhance guest engagement and satisfaction.
  • Act as an active event coordinator, managing logistics, scheduling, communication, and on-site execution.
  • Support community-building initiatives that encourage repeat visits and positive guest experiences.
  • Monitor campground activity to ensure compliance with campground rules, policies, and safety procedures.
  • Address rule violations professionally and consistently to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, local regulations, and safety standards.
  • Document incidents, guest concerns, and operational issues as required.
  • Utilize campground management software, reservation systems, email, and other computer-based tools effectively.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and timely communication through company systems.
  • Support system updates, reporting, and operational tracking as needed.
  • Provide regular operational updates to the Area Manager or Regional leadership.
  • Track key operational metrics related to occupancy, guest satisfaction, and events.
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed to support campground operations and initiatives.
  • Assist with special projects or initiatives as assigned.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support the overall success of the campground.
