About The Position

Camp Lake Hubert is one of Minnesota’s longest-standing girls’ camps, offering transformative summer experiences for campers from across the country and around the world. For over 100 years, our programs have inspired confidence, friendship, and character through adventure, community, and tradition. The Assistant Director of Operations & Staffing plays a key leadership role in supporting both the seasonal staffing experience and the daily operations of camp. This position oversees recruiting, onboarding, training coordination, and staff support, while also helping manage logistics, safety practices, and service delivery during the summer season. The role additionally contributes to the growth and success of our event season by building relationships with user groups and ensuring excellent guest experiences. Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or 2–3 years related experience
  • Camp experience strongly preferred
  • HR or recruiting experience helpful
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Excel preferred
  • Familiarity with CampMinder, Monday.com, Canva, and ADP a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead year-round talent acquisition, interviewing, onboarding, and seasonal staff development.
  • Support staff culture, communication, performance, and offboarding processes.
  • Partner with Camp Directors and People Services on hiring and staffing decisions.
  • Oversee daily operational logistics, including scheduling, transportation, inventory, and training coordination.
  • Support safety practices, compliance standards, and readiness for camp opening.
  • Maintain operational areas such as warehouse, vehicles, kitchen support, and camp store.
  • Maintain relationships with returning groups and assist with onboarding new user groups.
  • Coordinate logistics, communication, and staffing to deliver high-quality guest experiences.
  • Assist winter office operations, planning, and communication.
  • Provide feedback insights and support year-round operational improvements.
