About The Position

Camp Jack -LPN Pay Rate $28/ Hour Temporary position 30 hours. SUMMARY: The Camp Jack Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) directly attends to the routine and immediate medical needs of the Camp Jack campers, while enabling eligible children and their families/caregivers to receive the rights, procedural safeguards, and services authorized under the States and American Camping Associations guidelines and protocols.

Requirements

Knowledge obtained through the attainment of a degree from accredited institution as determined by ACA standards.
Ability to provide current copy of Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) license and required health records.
Knowledge and skill obtained through at least two years of experience in human services.
Knowledge of pediatrics and being active in outdoor settings.
Skill in communicating and working both independently and within a team.
Ability to accurately maintain records.
Pass a qualifying criminal background check

Responsibilities

Attend and complete all mandatory People Incorporated and Camp Jack trainings.
Assist in providing healthcare services for all Camp Jack campers and staff.
Assist with implementation of camp health and wellness activities as scheduled.
Maintain a safe, clean medical cabin.
Consistently enforce and follow all program/safety rules.
Report any concerns to the Camp Director or Lead RN.
Assist in snack and mealtime blood glucose testing.
Assist in monitoring and managing campers blood glucose levels throughout the camp day.
Provide creative support for camp theme weeks.
Other duties as assigned.
