About The Position

This position is responsible for: Performs a variety of housekeeping duties for a camp; cleans restrooms, offices, and other camp facilities; washes, stores, and distributes linens; ensures the neatness and cleanliness of the camp facilities daily. Requirements

  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Ability to exert the physical energy required to perform housekeeping and minor maintenance work.
  • Some physical requirements of the Camp Housekeeping/Laundress position include endurance, including climbing, standing, bending, stooping, and stretching.
  • Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity are required to manipulate housekeeping/laundress equipment and perform related activities.
  • Requires a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Have a willingness to live in a camp setting and to work irregular hours, delivering a program at the facility available.
  • Operate with daily exposure to the sun, heat, and varying environmental conditions.
  • No formal education or experience required.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification

Responsibilities

  • Cleans camp facilities and offices; collects, washes, folds, stores, and distributes linens; ensures the accountability of linens.
  • Washes all dining room linens after each meal and ensures they are restocked.
  • Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms; cleans sinks and toilets, polishes mirrors, and replenishes supplies.
