About The Position

Paid Summer Internship. Full-time starting at the end of May through the end of August. Camp Christopher, a program of Catholic Charities, is looking for enthusiastic, passionate, and hardworking interns to work in our stables department. The ideal candidate has prior experience working with horses and is interested in working in a fast-paced, rewarding, and enjoyable environment. Interns will gain valuable experience working and teaching children. Applicants must be 18 years or older. If you love the outdoors and working with animals, this opportunity is for you!

Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen years or older
• Intern will abide by the contractual agreement between Catholic Charities and the higher education institution
• Ability to work in an outdoor setting that requires frequent walking, standing, and lifting

Nice To Haves

• Preference to applicants obtaining a degree in animal management/ care, outdoor recreation, or a related field
• Preference to applicants with prior horse experience/ interest

Responsibilities

• Facilitate trail rides, ring rides, and lead line rides
• Work with the team to provide all aspects of horse care
• Follow applicable regulations and standards to ensure camper safety
• Work with groups of children throughout the day
• Learn the skills necessary for stable and horse management
