About The Position
The Summer Camp Director is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all components of the summer camp program. This includes overseeing curriculum and activity development, managing staff recruitment and training, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and maintaining strong communication with families. The Director creates a welcoming camp environment where children can grow, explore, and succeed throughout the summer. Camp Seewackamano is a warm, play-based learning environment dedicated to nurturing creativity, curiosity, and confidence in young children. Our summer camp program blends engaging activities, outdoor adventures, and hands-on learning to make every day memorable! Camp Seewackamano runs 6/30/2026-8/28/2026. Requirements
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong management and communication skills
- Ability to work outdoors and participate in active play
- Passionate, reliable, and team-oriented
Responsibilities
- Assists Youth Development Director in the overall leadership of camp operations
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate summer camp activities
- Create a safe, positive, and engaging environment
- Communicate effectively with families and coworkers
