About The Position

The Town of Snowmass Village is looking to hire a lifeguard to join our Parks, Recreation and Trails team! This is an in-person part-time position, offering part-time benefits We are looking for a Camp Counselor who will assist with the planning, organization and implementation of camp activities. This position will supervise and monitor all camp participants and will actively and participate in all activities. This position receives work assignments with general guidelines and instruction and performs work duties under limited supervision

Requirements

  • CPR/First Aid/AED Certification (provided during Counselor Training)
  • Universal precaution certificate (provided during Counselor Training)
  • Authorization for mandatory criminal record checks submitted to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation for child abuse and neglect
  • Adherence to and familiarity with the Colorado State Childcare licensing regulations.
  • Program Leaders must be at least 18 years of age and demonstrate an ability to work with children.
  • Program leaders must have at least 3 months of full time or equivalent part time satisfactory and verifiable experience with school aged children.
  • Program Aids shall be at least 16 years of age.
  • Program aids shall work directly under the supervision of the program director or program leaders and shall never be left alone with children.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as an appropriate role model for all camp participants. Sets a good example for campers and others including cleanliness, punctuality, sharing, clean-up and sportsmanship.
  • Develops and implements summer camp schedules.
  • Directs both individual campers and groups.
  • Supervises all aspects of the campers’ day and ensures their well-being and safety.
  • Creates safe, unique recreation opportunities for camp participants that includes field trips, arts and crafts, sports and games. Plans, implements and evaluates all recreational activities for summer camp.
  • Organizes, promotes, manages and supervises summer camp activities, events, classes and programs.
  • Participates in staff trainings and meetings.
  • Maintains good public relations with participants’ parents
