Summer Youth Counselor or Counselor-in-Training serves as youth leaders working to support NASCAR Hall of Fame summer camp programs. Teens (14-17) work under the supervision of the Camp Manager and Camp Coordinators to assist with greeting campers, supporting program activities, co-leading games and crafts and facilitating breaks, including snack time. Youth counselors receive training program activities, safety procedures, and a babysitter course that includes first aid response. The Summer Youth Counselors are expected to adhere to the same code of conduct and policies as regular program staff and actively participate in all aspects of the day camp operations. The position runs from June 16 to August 1, with camp hours scheduled Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Counselors typically work 3–4 days per week for up to six weeks. There is a scheduled break from June 30 to July 4, and an additional week off for summer vacation can be arranged, by request.
