About The Position

This position is with Camp Carew, 303 Hidden Bay Ln, Makanda, IL 62958, and is seasonal (summers). The Camp Counselor reports to the Unit Director, Program Director and Camp Director, Applicants must be 18 years of age or a high school graduate. Min wage IL Some college education in child related fields is preferred. Responsibilities include assisting in the direction, supervision and organization of campers in their camping group with activities. Participate in the development and implementation of program activities. Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities. Be a role model to campers and staff in attitude and behavior. Represent the camp when interacting with parents or community members. Physical ability to respond appropriately to situations requiring first aid. Must be able to assist campers in emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury) and possess strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers. Excellent training provided prior to start of camp. Good salary PLUS room and board.
