The Camp/Clinic Counselor provides fundamental instruction in a specific sport, along with supervision and guidance to youth attendees at LMU Sports Camps/Clinics. This role reports to the Coaching and Administrative Staff in the LMU Athletics Department. The instructor is responsible for teaching proper technique through various activities like stretching, warm-ups, drills, and competitions, following the program outline. Key duties include constant supervision of campers, including during transportation between facilities, lunch breaks, and recreation swim times, with strict adherence to head counts and sign-out procedures. Counselors must uphold the standards of conduct outlined in the LMU Athletics Department handbook and Summer Sports Camp Counselor Guidelines. Additionally, the position requires compliance with NCAA, Conference, and University rules and policies, including completing required compliance information and participating in annual evaluations. The instructor is expected to embody the university's mission, vision, and values, communicate professionally, and demonstrate a commitment to excellent customer service. There is a possibility for the Camp/Clinic Counselor to supervise other camp counselors, handle administrative camp duties, or possess advanced experience and teaching qualifications.
