About The Position

Purpose of the Camera Operator:
The Camera Operator is responsible for taking video during live racing events.

Requirements

• Must be able to work in a fast paced live video production setting
• Must be able to maintain a good, steady camera shot while walking around the camera mount
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills – including being fluent and literate in English
• Ability to maintain a high level professionalism
• Ability to interact with colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
• Possesses excellent problem solving, organizational, and time management skills
• Must possess the ability to obtain Minnesota Racing Commission license

Responsibilities

• Prep and set up camera equipment
• Operation of broadcast studio big lens cameras with control arms as directed by the Director
• Framing and composition of shots as specified by the Director
• White balance focus and iris control to ensure quality of video signal
• Responding quickly to directions
• Liaising with staff
• Check camera angles and movements
• Must be able to learn new camera techniques quickly
