Under the direction of the Staff Engineer - CAM, the CAM Programmer position will be responsible for the following:

  • Ensure CNC programs for lasers, turret punch presses, brake presses and other MPC equipment are created, or, updated per Engineering releases.
  • Assume daily responsibility of drawing releases from Engineering.
  • Secure understanding and manipulate parameter-based software.
  • Use PC-based software to create/maintain the N.C. files from drawing files.
  • Test and set manufacturing parameters for machine posts and production software.
  • Work with production associates at their machines to improve, or, troubleshoot programs.
  • Install, test and troubleshoot software updates for MPC equipment.
  • Implement and sustain flow technology in MPC.
  • Coordinate tooling requirements with MPC engineers.
  • Drive continuous improvement and cost reduction projects.
  • Coordinate introduction of new products to production.
  • Work closely with MPC Manufacturing Engineers, Product Design Engineering, and the production floor to effectively implement new products into production
  • Establish shop routings and BOM’s for new products and engineering specials.
  • Perform safety and 5S audits as assigned throughout MPC.
  • Provide technical support and monitor critical processes in the department.
  • Provide required support for ISO 9001.
  • Work closely with ISO coordinating team and production employees to ensure compliance to ISO 9001 standards.
  • Follow procedures established for Manufacturing Engineering to execute design changes, implementation of procedures and reference documents, and all documented responsibilities of Process Engineering.
  • 1 to 3 years of CAM and CAD experience with a 2 Year Technical Degree with OR 3 to 5 years of CAM and CAD experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong computer skills including all Microsoft Software.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • 1 to 3 years CAM experience in metal fabrication is preferred.
  • Knowledge of other CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, Creo, SolidWorks a plus.
  • Knowledge of Metal Fabrication Equipment such as Fiber Lasers, Brake Presses, Punch press a plus.
  • Working knowledge of SAP and/or Power Bi is a plus.
