This role ensures efficient and precise machining processes through effective tool path generation, tooling selection, and close collaboration with machinists, production, and design engineering teams.

  • Develop and maintain CNC programs for mills and lathes using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, or Siemens NX).
  • Create accurate tool paths, setups, and machining strategies for both prototype and production parts.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds to achieve quality, efficiency, and tool life objectives.
  • Work with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of parts and suggest design improvements when necessary.
  • Simulate and verify tool paths to detect potential collisions or inefficiencies before machining.
  • Support machinists during machine setup, program prove-out, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain organized program libraries and documentation for all parts and processes.
  • Continuously improve machining processes by analyzing cycle times, tooling performance, and part quality.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance to ensure all parts meet dimensional and surface finish requirements.
