About The Position

Under the supervision of the Employment Training Specialist Supervisor, the CalWORKs OA is responsible for provides administrative and clerical support to staff and clients participating in the California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) program. This role ensures efficient office operations while delivering courteous, professional assistance to individuals seeking employment and supportive services. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Adhere to all El Concilio California policies and procedures. Greet and assist clients, providing information about CalWORKs services, eligibility, and program requirements Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate staff Schedule appointments and maintain staff calendars Prepare, process, and file documents such as applications, case records, and reports Enter and update client information in databases with accuracy and confidentiality Assist caseworkers with administrative tasks and follow-up communications Monitor office supplies and place orders as needed Maintain organized filing systems (physical and electronic) Support workshop coordination, including preparing materials and tracking attendance Ensure compliance with confidentiality and program regulations Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and administration CORE COMPETENCIES: All El Concilio California staff are expected to meet the expectations of our Core Competencies Accountability and Reliability: Shows honesty, integrity, responsibility, initiative, and is mindful of impact on team/organization. Requirements

  • 18 years of age or valid work permit
  • Must have flexibility to work on evenings and weekends
  • Strong interpersonal and advocacy skills with the ability to engage diverse populations.
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, and time-management skills.
  • Strong initiative and ability to suggest and implement new social media strategies
  • Successful completion of Criminal background check

  • Successful completion of HIPAA Training

Nice To Haves

  • Previous clerical or office support experience preferred
  • Familiarity with public assistance programs or social services is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability communicate clearly; read and write in English and Spanish language is highly preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and/or Google Docs and Google Sheets;
