Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Empathy and excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to recognize when additional resources or crisis intervention is needed.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls promptly and provide professional, empathetic customer service.
  • Schedule patient appointments according to protocol.
  • Transfer calls to the appropriate departments or individuals as needed.
  • Accurately document and relay messages to nurses and providers to ensure proper follow-up.
  • Seek additional information from departments to resolve caller inquiries efficiently.
  • Identify and respond appropriately to emergency situations, including mental health emergencies.
  • Call patients or their representatives when necessary to relay important information.
