About The Position

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and providing technical support for machine systems while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Tasks: This position is responsible for repairing damaged cages that are used to transport live birds. Inspect Live Haul Trailers for damaged cages. Unbind damaged cages. Operate Moffett and/or loader/unloader to remove damaged cages from trailer. Transport damaged cage to shop area. Repair damage by using either a torch or a welder to interchange parts or by making whatever other repairs are needed. Keep tools and work area clean. Follow all Live Haul safety rules. Perform other job duties assigned by management which may include checking wing tips and checking bird temps.

Requirements

  • Must have the ability to operate small tools and welders.
  • Must be able to weld. Stick welding is preferred, but not required.
  • Must meet internal requirements to operate an all-terrain Moffett or loader/unloader.
  • Alabama Class “A” CDL preferred, but not required.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, and climb.
  • Appropriate personal protection items required.
  • Regular lifting from 11% - 100% of the time from 0 up to 45 lbs. and occasional lifting from 0% - 10% of the time over 45 lbs.
  • May require long periods of standing.
  • Some jobs have repetitive motions, utilizing hand and wrist motions.
  • Must be able to withstand extreme environmental conditions during all seasons of the year.
  • Must be able to work in a dusty, non-toxic environment.
  • Must not have received any Counseling Statements/Written Warnings within the past 6 months or any Written Warning/Suspensions within the past 12 months.
  • Internal Location Applicants will be considered first. All External applicants thereafter.
