About The Position

Responsible for the supervision and management of the campus school nutrition operation. Responsible to ensure that appropriate quantities of food are prepared and served in a safe and sanitary environment.

Requirements

  • GED/High School Diploma
  • San Jacinto College School Nutrition Certification course completion, Region 4 Manager’s Academy Program or TASN Level 4 Certification
  • Working knowledge of methods, materials, equipment used in school nutrition quantity food production
  • Ability to manage team of 18 or more employees
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and department software
  • Three years of experience in institutional food service operations, preferably in a school nutrition environment

Responsibilities

  • Ensure food production standards are met to guarantee the safety and quality of food according to federal, state and local policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Direct daily activities in the food production areas and serving lines.
  • Supervise, train and evaluate employees promoting efficiency, employee morale and teamwork
  • Follow established food safety (HACCP) procedures to ensure standards of cleanliness, health and food safety.
  • Maintain accurate reports of daily and monthly financial, food production and student activity records.
  • Complete 10 hours of professional development training annually per USDA Professional Standards policy.

  • The District contributes $400/month to the cost of employee only health insurance, which is $175/month greater than the state required amount of $225/month.
