About The Position

At Hotel Phoenix, the Cafeteria Cook plays a vital role in supporting our internal culture by delivering high-quality, consistent meals to our associates. This position ensures that our team is well-nourished, energized, and cared for—reflecting our belief that exceptional guest experiences begin with exceptional associate experiences.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, or cafeteria setting preferred
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to prepare meals in volume while maintaining quality
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook daily meals for the Associate Dining Room in accordance with established menus and production schedules
  • Ensure meals are flavorful, well-presented, and aligned with Hotel Phoenix quality standards
  • Maintain consistency in portioning and minimize food waste
  • Set up, maintain, and break down the cafeteria kitchen daily
  • Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and rotation (FIFO standards)
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to leadership
  • Adhere to all health, sanitation, and safety standards (ServSafe guidelines)
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment at all times
  • Ensure all equipment is used and maintained properly
  • Support a positive, respectful, and inclusive work environment
  • Interact professionally with associates while serving meals
  • Contribute to a culture of hospitality within the Heart of House
