About The Position

The Cook II is responsible for assisting in the preparation and cooking of a variety of food items, ensuring quality, taste, and presentation. This role supports the kitchen team by taking on more complex cooking tasks and helping to train less experienced staff while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

Nice To Haves

  • culinary degree or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping, marinating, and portioning.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring consistency with restaurant standards.
  • Help with inventory management and food ordering as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  • Train and mentor Cook I and other kitchen staff in food preparation techniques.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
