Requirements

High school diploma is the minimum education requirement.
Willingness to go through and pass the required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of our children, including mandated reporter training, physical, and TB test. This can typically be accomplished within a week to get you started.
Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and stopping for long periods of time, as these happen throughout the eight-hour day.
Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively with a team, and adapt to changing situations.
Understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements related to student information.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working with individuals with special needs or disabilities is preferred.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting students with diverse needs.

Responsibilities

Cafeteria Assistance
Manage students during meal service (behavior problems should be referred to the teacher or principal according to guidelines established by each school site)
Communicate with students and school staff in a positive and professional manner utilizing appropriate customer service and interpersonal skills
Circulate throughout the cafeteria or in areas where meals are served and/or eaten, assisting students who need help
Assist with the cleanliness of the cafeteria/lunch rooms
Dismisses classes in an orderly manner at the scheduled time
Encourage good table manners
Other duties as assigned
