About The Position

acac is seeking an energetic and experienced and business-minded Café Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our café. The ideal candidate is a positive leader who thrives in a fast-paced, community-focused environment and understands how to balance great food and service with strong business fundamentals. This position requires operational leadership and a clear understanding of cost controls, labor efficiency, and financial performance. Passion for food is important, but business sense is essential. What You’ll Do Provide strong, positive leadership and clear communication to café team members Hire, train, schedule, and supervise staff to ensure smooth daily operations Oversee food preparation, storage, safety, and cleanliness standards Manage food costs, conduct COG (Cost of Goods) calculations, and control waste to support profitability Develop and manage payroll staffing models that align labor costs with sales volume Plan, price, market, and execute café menus and promotions with profitability in mind Create and maintain schedules and staffing plans that balance service excellence and labor efficiency Foster a welcoming, professional, and customer-focused team culture Manage café operations within budget, analyze financial performance, and identify opportunities for growth and improvement Support and develop team members to build a strong, consistent, and accountable café foundation Maintain an efficient, organized, and upbeat café environment Role Breakdown 60% Hands-On Operations Working on the café floor Supporting team members Preparing food and beverages Maintaining cleanliness and food safety Delivering exceptional member service 40% Administrative & Leadership Duties Hiring, training, and performance management Scheduling and payroll planning COG analysis, inventory management, ordering, and cost control Reporting and financial tracking Menu planning, pricing, and promotional strategy with a focus on profitability

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing a café, restaurant, or food operation with financial responsibility
  • Strong understanding of food cost, labor cost, and profit margins
  • Comfortable analyzing numbers and making data-driven decisions
  • Able to balance hospitality, food quality, and financial performance
  • Thrives in a leadership role that requires both creativity and accountability
  • ServSafe certification required
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout a shift
  • Willingness to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 45 lbs
  • Read, sign, and abide by the policies included in the Team Member Handbook
  • Park in team member designated areas
  • Club cleanliness is an all-team responsibility; assist whenever necessary in any area of the club to keep club neat and clean
  • Attend mandatory Personal Training meetings
  • Assist with Service Days, as assigned by Supervisor
  • Assist with club programs, special events, or activities, as assigned by Supervisor
  • Promptly respond to work-related correspondence
  • Exhibit a positive attitude at all times
  • Deliver outstanding service to members and guests, following acac ’s FiveStar principles
