About The Position

As the Café Manager, you will be the Area Manager’s strategic partner, working on operational systems and processes to optimize workflow, improve efficiency, and elevate customer experience. You’ll take charge of operations, problem-solving, and team development, ensuring that every moving piece fits together seamlessly. This role is for someone bold in decision-making, impatient with inefficiency and relentless in driving results—while still leading with empathy and emotional intelligence. You’ll spend most of your time on the floor, working hands-on with baristas, troubleshooting obstacles, and enforcing systems that create a smooth, dynamic, and growth-driven café culture.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or operations leadership preferred.
  • Strong grasp of workflow efficiency, problem-solving, and operational logistics.
  • Ability to lead with urgency while fostering a positive, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong data analysis skills to track performance and implement improvements.
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and cover shifts as needed.
  • High School diploma required.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a barista or server is a plus.
  • Background in food prep, customer service, or hospitality is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Cover weekend shifts and find coverage as needed.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and maintenance of coffee equipment.
  • Coordinate with vendors and maintain inventory levels.
  • Keep financial records of daily, weekly, and monthly performance and propose strategies for improvement.
  • Implement and uphold waste management protocols.
  • Innovate new menu items based on seasonality and customer preferences (e.g., vegan coffee options).
  • Foster an environment of accountability, urgency, and excellence while maintaining a human-first leadership approach.
  • Exemplify exceptional customer service and advise on guest recovery practices.
  • Ensure cafes maintain cleanliness and organization inside and out.
  • Support the Director of Operations in team initiatives and operational projects.
  • Enforce health department compliance with food and beverage safety policies.
  • Administer disciplinary actions and track employee performance.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
