Greet and seat Guests pleasantly, quickly, and efficiently in an excellent manner. Ensure proper service and the efficient and smooth operation of the restaurant. Communicate all Guest opportunities/situations to management or relief personnel. Answer phones, take and coordinate reservations. The role requires knowledge of all service employees' responsibilities, including food servers, bus persons, and runners, as well as detailed knowledge of the facility and its amenities. The Hostperson/Cashier must be aware of dining room activities, including service standards, table bussing, station assignments, special functions, the presence of executives, and item availability. Responsibilities also include running the cash register, handling money, ensuring employee safety, assisting with table bussing and resetting, removing debris from the floor, and monitoring the door for prompt Guest seating. This position is responsible for the cleanliness of the host/hostess stand, floors, menus, signage, and special boards, as well as managing the register bank and all collected money, charges, and comps. Knowledge of all check tendering methods (Cash, comp, coupon, credit card, gift certificates, etc.) is required, along with balancing all checks at the end of the shift and submitting work in an organized manner.
