About The Position

The Café Cook supports the Culinary Team by preparing meals for residents, guests, and staff. This role follows established recipes and safety guidelines while helping to manage food costs through proper use of ingredients and supplies. This position will be performed in accordance with TANDEM LIVING Core Values, Mission Statement, and regulations.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience in food preparation and the ability to follow standardized recipes.

Nice To Haves

Formal culinary training or prior experience in an institutional food service setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintains kitchen operations in the Manager's absence. Assists with completing closing procedures for both back-of-house and front-of-house staff, and helps receive and properly store deliveries in designated areas.
Prepares and cooks assigned menu items following standardized recipes and daily production sheets. Samples food during preparation to identify and address any quality concerns that could impact customer satisfaction and communicates issues to the Manager.
Completes all required daily, weekly, and monthly quality key indicator procedures and logs in accordance with department standards.
Operates kitchen equipment safely and correctly and promptly reports any equipment malfunctions to management.
