About The Position

The Café Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays a vital role in supporting the Café General Manager and Kitchen Manager in all aspects of daily operations. This includes hiring, training, scheduling, inventory management, profit and loss oversight, hospitality, and food safety. The AGM is a developmental leadership role designed to prepare team members for future growth within our brand. This position requires strong leadership, active coaching, and a commitment to operational excellence to drive financial success. The role requires at least 45 hours per week on-site.

Requirements

Specialty coffee experience is a plus.
Reliable transportation with the ability to travel between locations.
Availability for nights and weekends.
Strong leadership, team-building, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational abilities and resourcefulness.
Self-motivated with a willingness to take direction.
Ability to stand for extended periods (~8 hours per shift).

Responsibilities

Achieve sales, cost of goods (COGs), labor and operational targets.
Assist with inventory management, invoicing, payroll, and schedule coordination.
Maintain and uphold food and beverage quality standards with a focus on food safety.
Ensure a clean, safe, and efficient work environment, addressing equipment issues and budget adherence.
Stay informed on hospitality trends, food innovations, and specialty coffee.
Implement Ascension Coffee standards as directed by Brand Leadership.
Drive café-level sales through exceptional service, merchandising, and local marketing events.
Foster passion, engagement, and a positive team culture.
Receive and apply feedback effectively, demonstrating adaptability.
Build strong interpersonal connections with team members of all skill levels.
Communicate clearly and effectively to inspire and align teams.
