About The Position

GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (GZA) is currently seeking a CADD Technician to support our growing engineering practice with conceptual and final design drawings. This position resides within our technical graphics team, which supports all project types. Typical projects include: environmental site investigations, civil-site design, sub-surface profiles, and field survey data management and reduction. The ideal candidate is a highly-motivated individual with a strong work ethic that possesses an ability to synthesize an assortment of data types collected by various methods and craft a technical drawing geared to an end-user, communicate with a team of diverse engineers and scientists, adhere to project deadlines, and demonstrates attention to detail. GZA emphasizes a One Company environment, and as a member of our team, you may be asked to assist on projects and tasks outside of your primary responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree, completed or in-progress, in Engineering Design or Mechanical and Computer Drafting, Technical/Vocational certification, or equivalent training.
  • Professional attitude and self-motivation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow direction, work independently or in a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Solid understanding of trigonometry and geometry.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred 2+ years’ experience with AutoCAD, experience in Civil 3D is a plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of ArcGIS basics is preferred, but not a requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing complete technical drawings from marked-up plans and/or verbal instruction within a project team; this may include basic cartographic maps or detailed environmental, civil, or geotechnical engineering plans.
  • Organize and manage project data to GZA company standards and best practices.
  • Performing technical execution of projects under the supervision of project managers, staff engineers, and other project staff.
  • Performing fieldwork on an as-needed basis.
