WSP is currently initiating a search for a CADD/OpenRoads Technician for our Raleigh, and/or Mooresville, NC office to support our Southeast Region Geospatial / Surveying Team. The successful candidate will be part of a team conducting conventional, aerial, mobile and terrestrial surveying projects surveying staff members. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or Open Roads Designer experience
  • Familiar with other relevant software such as GIS or BIM and technology used in surveying and civil engineering
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented and able to follow QA/QC procedures
  • Self-motivated, highly reliable and great work ethic
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must be able to work with a team

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Nice To Haves

  • Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) knowledge is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of surveying and/or civil engineering practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technically accurate and deliverable computer-generated CADD drawings utilizing Open Roads Designer, based on surveyors notes and sketches; preparation of complete contract drawings; maintain adherence to company and client CADD standards and procedures
  • Prepare and produce survey documents as directed
  • Conduct project research and review plans, legal descriptions, and calculations.
  • Process field crew data
  • Provide technical support for field crews including files, instructions, and maps
  • Compile, organize, and analyze survey data with supervision
  • Prepare state DOT mapping
  • Working closely and collaboration with a dynamic team of experienced professionals
  • Produce consistent, high-quality drafting according to internal and client specifications
  • Maintain a high-level production and quality to meet & exceed client expectations
  • Observe and comply with all company and related safety rules
