CAD Technician
About The Position
This is a unique opportunity that will give you an amazing foundation to start your CAD career. As a CAD Technician, you’ll help us tell the story of each project site visually combining accurate technical details with creative flair. You will work as part of our close-knit, decentralized CAD team, where you’ll be mentored by experienced professionals from various offices and contribute to interesting, diverse projects across the United States. We aren't just looking for a drafter; we’re looking for someone with a passion to learn how to produce complex graphics for geotechnical investigations and environmental remediation. As your expertise grows, your career trajectory will include opportunities to work on complex designs for environmental remediation, roadway retaining walls, shoring systems for large excavations, mine reclamation, stream restoration, and more. In your first year, you will be fully immersed in the many tools found in Civil 3D, moving beyond the basics to become a key part of our design teams. Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Technical or Associate’s degree preferred.
- Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D required.
- Ability to follow written, verbal, and/or diagrammatic instructions
- Ability to consistently meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional-level verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Under direct supervision of CAD staff, assists with: Redlines, Civil 3D tasks such as the creation of points, surfaces, alignments, and sections/profiles, Processing CAD and engineering data sets to be used in drawings, Creating figures, Providing basic support for engineering design drawings, Internal CAD standard initiatives such as detail library development, creating symbology, organizing layers in templates, etc.
- Collaborates with CAD staff to meet deadlines, adhere to budgets, and ensures deliverables are reviewed for QA/QC
- Adheres to internal and industry CAD drawing production standards
