At this time, STAR has an open position for a CAD Engineer (full-time, exempt). The CAD Engineer's expertise in technical drawing, project management, manufacturing support, problem-solving, and software proficiency ensures successful engineering projects with high-quality design outcomes.

Requirements

• 2-year degree in drafting / design.
• 2+ years of experience in CAD drafting (experience in retail, tradeshow or cabinetry strongly preferred)
• Software proficiency (AutoCAD, MS Office-Excel, internet)
• Willingness and ability to work beyond 40 hours per week during peak periods to ensure client needs are met

Responsibilities

• Pivotal in translating design concepts into detailed technical drawings and 3D models using CAD software.
• Collaborate closely with Project Engineers, Design Engineers, and builders, to ensure accurate communication of design intent.
• Manage design files to prevent conflicts, prioritize tasks for project deadlines, and provide technical support during manufacturing, ensuring designs meet quality standards.
• Use problem-solving skills to address design challenges and optimizing designs for functionality and cost-effectiveness.
• Complete AutoCAD drawings (2D and 3D, technical, graphic, CNC, and setup) for assigned projects in a timely manner
• Actively participate in internal project meetings, including project margin and variance reviews, new business production meetings and project debriefs
• Complete daily reporting responsibilities
