At LUZCO, we believe great projects start with great planning. We are looking for a Project Controls Scheduler who is organized, analytical, and enjoys working with teams to keep projects on track. This role supports project planning, scheduling, cost tracking, and reporting, and works closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders throughout the life of a project. We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, proactive, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with schedules, data, and project teams, and is always looking for ways to improve processes and stay organized.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to client drawing standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel occasionally for multi-state projects.
  • 0–2 years of experience (entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply)

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree (AAS) in Drafting and Design or a related field
  • Utility or substation drafting experience.
  • Experience with single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, or substation layouts.

Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and maintain electronic engineering drawings.
  • Use Autodesk AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation/Substation to develop substation physical and protection & control drawings.
  • Work closely with engineers and other team members to develop 2D drawings for substation projects.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and ensure drawings are completed accurately and on time.
  • Assist with substation engineering drawings including single-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, control house layouts, and substation elevations.
  • Follow and maintain client drawing standards and project requirements.
  • Support the team with additional tasks and assist in other areas when needed.
