About The Position

Uses CAD equipment to provide support to engineers by preparing routine layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches and diagrams. Details to include all views and dimensions necessary for manufacture. Makes copies of drawings and maintains information regarding changes to database. Makes simple decisions but refers most questions/problems to engineers or supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Associate degree in computer aided drafting and/or equivalent experience and training
• Strong mechanical design aptitude
• Strong literacy with Microsoft Office Suite
• Interpersonal and mechanical aptitude necessary to deal effectively with a variety of departments

Nice To Haves

• Pro/E modeling and detailing experience
• MTConnect
• CREO and AutoCAD
• Familiar with current GD&T standards

Responsibilities

• Uses computer assisted design/drafting (CREO and AutoCAD) equipment and software to develop designs.
• Creates and revises production drawings (detail and assembly drawings).
• Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.
• Drafts detailed multi-view drawings of machine and products.
• Updates Drafting and Engineering Standards.
• Responsible for 2D and other machine programming including but not limited to: bed-style thermal cutting equipment, bed router, brake and hydraulic presses, and laser marking equipment.
• Work directly with the machines and operators to identify opportunities for improvement.
