About The Position

Northland Design & Build CAD Designer This position is in office and in the field and located in Sherwood. Seeking a highly experienced CAD Drafter to join our creative team. This is a supportive role for our design team and construction crew. This position will focus on detailing construction plans that may include exterior elevations. This position places the candidate at the heart of high profile design projects that require an eye for precision and execution. This position may also include interior design. Individual will be responsible for developing and organizing conceptual plans as well as construction document sets that include material schedules, framing plans and finished layouts. Drafter may be responsible for collaborating with outside design partners, such as engineers to refine conceptual layouts. The Drafter will be responsible for verification of onsite measurements during design phases, before construction begins, or during construction to ensure accuracy of measurements and dimensions. Requirements

  • Experience in design, drafting, construction or relevant field
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Sketchup and Adobe a plus
  • Fundamental knowledge of residential construction; structural knowledge preferred but not required
  • A "team player" as well as ability work autonomously as needed
  • Must be organized, proactive and demonstrate attention to detail
  • 4+ years Revit experience required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
  • Candidates must be fluent in written and spoken English required
  • 2+ year degree or certificate in design or architecture preferred
  • Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an accessible way, both in person and in writing is required
  • Ability to effectively meet deadlines is required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with FF&E schedules
  • Experience with rendering software such as Enscape
  • Experience in kitchen design a plus

Responsibilities

  • Proficiency with Revit required including viewing templates, design options, schedules and families
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and work under tight deadlines, while maintaining high quality standards
  • Prepare construction plans for residential remodels
  • Perform routine tasks under general supervision using well-defined standards, procedures and codes
  • Perform product research; assist project designers with materials selection and system research
