CAD Designer / Drafter II

About The Position

Develop and maintain 2D CAD drawings including PFDs, P&IDs, one-line diagrams, general layouts, plans, sections, and details for all disciplines. Primary software utilized is AutoCAD. Role requires strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills to support multi-discipline project execution.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a closely related CAD/drafting role
• Demonstrated experience with CAD design
• Associate’s degree in Drafting or equivalent from a technical school preferred (experience considered in lieu of degree)
• Proficiency with 2D CAD software, specifically AutoCAD (required); MicroStation/SmartSketch a plus
• Ability to manage tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and shifting priorities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Review engineering drawings and designs to ensure compliance with company specifications and standards
• Develop computer-generated drawings, isometrics, layouts, plans, schedules, and data sheets
• Prepare dimensional and non-dimensional drawings (layouts, one-lines, etc.)
• Revise drawings per engineer or project team direction
• Interface and communicate effectively with engineering and design teams across disciplines
• Provide document control support, database administration, and progress reporting
• Coordinate and communicate drawing-related issues with company and contractor engineering teams
• Keep Supervisor informed of drawing progress, deviations, and execution concerns
• Support internal engineering initiatives and special projects as requested
