About The Position

The primary function of this position is to troubleshoot, repair and perform maintenance procedures on the hospital's telephone system, nurse call system, television system and two-way communication system. Responsibilities Supports the hospital's Christian mission and philosophy. Troubleshoots and performs repairs and maintenance on the telecommunications system. Makes all moves, adds and other changes to the switch and associated equipment. Trains hospital employees in telephone use. Makes all programming additions and deletions on the computer programs. Generates all reports needed for telecommunications management. Interacts with representatives of communication equipment and service vendors to solve complex telecommunication system problems. Assists the Director of Engineering Services in evaluating system needs and makes recommendations for future expansions. Reads and interprets service manuals, including installation and test procedures and their electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • Sufficient previous experience as a biomedical equipment technician preferred.
  • Customer relations, verbal and written communication skills necessary.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and/or vocational/ specialized training preferred.
  • Courses in electronic technology required.
