About The Position

Seeking skilled Data Center Technicians to support the installation and decommissioning of network and cabling infrastructure within large‑scale data centers in New Albany, OH. This role involves hands‑on work with copper and fiber cabling, structured cabling systems, and data center infrastructure. Candidates must be detail‑oriented, safety‑focused, and capable of delivering high‑quality workmanship in a fast‑paced environment.

Requirements

  • Experience with low‑voltage cabling, structured cabling, or telecom installation
  • Ability to pull all types of low‑voltage cable (Cat5, Cat6, fiber, etc.)
  • Familiarity with wiring schemes, wiring tests, and cable troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and understand floor plans and design documents
  • Knowledge of basic telecom hand tools
  • Understanding of job safety requirements and best practices
  • Ability to work in data centers, including raised floors and overhead spaces
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and standing/walking for extended periods
  • Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills
  • Ability to follow direction from Technicians, Leads, and Operations Managers

  • Rack and stack experience
  • 1+ years of experience in cabling
  • Fiber and copper testing/troubleshooting
  • Fusion splicing (OSP/ISP)
  • Experience operating DSX‑5000 and OTDR testers
  • Experience creating and applying mass labels per port maps
  • Prior data center experience

Responsibilities

  • Install and decommission network and cabling infrastructure in a data center environment
  • Perform copper and fiber cable pulling, routing, dressing, labeling, and termination
  • Install ladder racking, seismic bracing, and cable pathways above and below raised floors
  • Read, interpret, and redline blueprints, floor plans, and building documentation
  • Maintain data center cleanliness and follow all safety, quality, and production standards
  • Provide structured feedback and communicate project progress to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with technicians, leads, and senior staff to remove project obstacles
  • Conduct copper and fiber testing using DSX‑5000, OTDR, and related tools
  • Download, verify, and submit test results via LinkWare/LinkWare Live
  • Install, connect, and decommission network equipment
  • Perform service swaps on live networking devices
  • Differentiate live cables from decom cables
  • Dress and furcate fiber trunks for splicing; perform fusion splicing (single & ribbon)
  • Maintain accurate paperwork and documentation
