About The Position

Install work‑area outlets for floors, modular furniture, and wall locations, including terminating CAT 3 and CAT 5 jacks and properly mounting faceplates and surface‑mount boxes. Build and organize telecommunications closets by mounting and installing backboards, cross‑connects, racks, patch panels, fiber‑optic equipment, and related hardware. Ensure proper grounding for racks, equipment, and cabling. Complete IDC connections such as 110/66 block and patch‑panel terminations. Perform cable testing, including continuity tests for horizontal and riser cabling, using a volt‑ohmmeter, and troubleshooting opens, crosses, shorts, and transposed pairs. Utilize tone sets to identify cable paths. Identify active voice and data circuits. Provide leadership for crew performance, including on‑site training, personnel coordination, and scheduling to ensure timely project completion. Complete all required documentation accurately and on time, including timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, and tool transfers. Adhere to all applicable quality and safety standards established by the industry, customers, and internal guidelines. Perform additional duties as assigned. Must be self‑motivated, professional, and able to support continuous improvement efforts within the project environment. Promotes a positive culture when interacting with employees, vendors, clients, and business partners. Acts as a liaison when interacting with customer representatives. Must demonstrate strong problem‑solving abilities, critical‑thinking skills, and the capability to read, write, and deliver effective presentations. Must be able to work at heights, use ladders, operate in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds, and move loads up to 75 pounds. Must be able to distinguish color codes, read small print, and recognize audible signals such as dial tones. Able to travel within the assigned branch or regional territory as needed.
