About The Position

A Construction Technician is needed to perform a variety of overhead / underground construction duties for Blue Ridge Communications.

Requirements

• H.S. Diploma or G.E.D.
• Established residency in Pennsylvania
• Valid Driver’s License and good driving record
• Aerial Construction Experience
• Solid background in Electronics
• Knowledge of all hardware, cable types and related equipment
• Ability to complete pole transfers
• Ability to construct strand / cable
• Ability to overlash fiber onto existing plant
• Ability to read and interpret system design prints
• Ability to climb utility poles
• Ability to lift up to 80lbs to chest level on a continual basis throughout shift
• Ability to operate construction vehicles and cable trailers safely
• Ability to travel within company footprint as needed
• Ability to work overtime as needed; must be available for a normal 40 hour work week plus on call and emergency purposes

• Frame and strand poles
• Lash /Overlash cable
• Transfer facilities between poles
• Place cable in joint trenches
• Digging trenches
• Climbing Poles and Ladders
• Maintenance and upgrades
• Other duties as assigned
