Wood Systems Inc., a subsidiary of Mill Creek Lumber and Supply, is a leading custom millwork manufacturing facility specializing in high-quality wood products for various industries. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cabinet Assembler to join our production team. As a Cabinet Assembler, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process by assembling, fitting, and installing various components to create beautiful and functional cabinets for our valued clients. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for woodworking and craftsmanship to contribute to the creation of exceptional products.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in cabinet assembly or woodworking, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools, such as drills, saws, routers, and sanders.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.
  • Knowledge of cabinet construction techniques, joinery methods, and finishing.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and the ability to follow established procedures to prevent accidents.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to operate machinery or equipment as required.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand the requirements of each cabinet project.
  • Assemble and fit cabinet components, such as frames, panels, doors, shelves, and hardware, using hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensure that all assembled cabinets meet the company's high standards of quality and craftsmanship.
  • Inspect finished cabinets for defects, alignment issues, and proper functionality.
  • Make necessary adjustments and repairs as needed.
  • Receive and organize cabinet components and raw materials in the production area.
  • Move materials to the assembly line or workstations using appropriate equipment or tools, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, while adhering to safety guidelines.
  • Work closely with other members of the production team, including designers, carpenters, and finishers, to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of projects.
  • Communicate any issues or concerns regarding design specifications, materials, or processes to the relevant individuals or departments.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Properly handle, store, and dispose of tools, equipment, and hazardous materials.
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
  • Actively participate in ongoing training programs and skill development opportunities to enhance your knowledge of cabinet assembly techniques, tools, and materials.
  • Share suggestions for process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity within the production department.
  • Other duties as assigned.
