About The Position

We’re creative problem-solvers whose work sets the bar for others. As a CAAS Staff Accountant consultant, you’ll prepare and review financial documents, reports, and statements. You’ll be responsible for all daily accounting tasks, including preparing tax documents and updating expense files. You will perform financial transactions and post them in the general ledger, with strong attention to detail. You will also carry out relevant administrative duties (e.g., responding to clients via email and handling invoices). Ultimately, you will ensure the client’s finances run smoothly. The day-to-day responsibilities of Staff Accountant will vary significantly depending upon a client’s size and needs. Requirements

  • Similar experience as a Staff Accountant or relevant role in accounting.
  • Previous experience in accounting or other related fields.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to use accounting software to accurately record, store, and analyze financial data.
  • Confidentiality with all data and information.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Ability to: interact with all levels inside and outside the organization, take initiative, anticipate problems and formulate resolutions, exercise good judgment/decision making, prioritize and multi-task, work independently, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g., by assets, liabilities and expenses).
  • Reconcile the cash accounts to the bank statements each month.
  • Prepare account reconciliations as assigned.
  • Conduct month-end and year-end closures.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Prepare reliable current and forecasting reports.
  • Maintain and update accounting records and files.
  • Standardize and maintain a system of accounting records and techniques.
  • Prepare documents for audit and tax preparations.
  • Meet with clients to discuss confidential accounting issues.
