About The Position

The CAAS Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the ongoing financial reporting operations of clients. This includes the review of periodic financial reports prepared by the Accounting Specialists and Supervisors and others, preparation of budgets, monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other management reports, and maintaining a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the client’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with accounting principles. The Accounting Manager also serves as the primary liaison between the client, client team members and the client’s auditor and other professional service providers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in relevant coursework.
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in private/public accounting working with clients in the $1-$10 million in revenues per year range. Some experience working with clients with annual revenues up to $50 million or more preferred.
  • 2 – 3 years managing staff.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with engagement teams and client personnel to ensure the timely and effective completion of firm services, primarily related to the management of various types of accounting consulting services.
  • Perform assessments (on-site or virtual) with current and perspective clients to assess and describe the condition of their accounting records and provide recommendations for completing the work (i.e., contracting with REDW, contracting with other accounting consultants, or completing the work with internal resources).
  • Determines fee estimate based on preliminary assessments of accounting records and prepares SOWs addressing the scope of proposed services.
  • Communicates with clients’ management and accounting personnel during the planning phase of each engagement to describe varying source documents and levels of engagement required to complete services efficiently. This includes evaluating client’s internal resources and providing recommendations for delegating work.
  • Provides support to the Accounting Specialists and Supervisors and other Team Members to ensure engagements are completed in a timely manner consistent with client expectations.
  • Ensures completion of general ledger account reconciliations, analyses, and other consulting services.
  • Internal Management and Client Analysis Report preparation.
  • Preparation of complex client Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Critical Success Factors (CSFs) and other management reports.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting, project completion, and completion of Management Report Package.
  • Staff and technology resource planning/management.
  • Provides mentoring and oversight to department team members for their professional development and expansion of skills.
  • Cultivates role as relationship manager for the client and provides timely response to all client inquiries.
  • Provides advice to clients and seeks additional service opportunities. Works with other departments for timely follow-up on opportunities.
  • Keeps Principal and Senior Manager informed of scope changes and potential change orders.
  • Leads dynamic client presentations – is a professional, articulate, and influential presenter.
  • Works with client and project team to resolve issues, client needs, and discuss quality of client processes.
  • Participates in client presentations and begins to take on roles in delivery of those presentations.
  • Keeps client informed of current technical areas affecting their operations, etc.
  • Participates directly in business development activities including delivering presentations and consultative advising.
