About The Position

SUMMARY: The Assistant Manager will oversee the daily operations of the store, including custody of money, employee scheduling, inventory management, bookkeeping, and staff supervision. They will have a considerable degree of autonomy in determining how to carry out their duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Ensures store complies with company standards for cleanliness, food services, sanitation, customer service, and merchandising Directs, supervises, and assigns tasks to cashiers and cooks Administers policies and procedures including performance reviews, compensation, new-hires, terminations, leaves, employee relations, safety, and legal compliance matters Meets with Manager to discuss store strategies and financial performance Authorizes payments and merchandise returns Handles bookkeeping and balancing of daily/monthly sales and cash/credit transactions Orders and tracks weekly inventory Maximizes profitability, controls expenses, manages inventory levels, and minimizes shortages Plans and implements marketing campaigns, sales promotions, and oversees merchandise displays Determines merchandise to be sold and sets prices based on demand Collaborates with merchandising team/vendors to increase sales, expand markets, and promote business Operates and manages POS systems and gas pumps Assists cashiers and cooks as needed Performs other assigned duties QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Must possess a High School Diploma or G.E.D.; Associate's Degree or higher preferred. Supervisor/Assistant Manager experience preferred. CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES: Possess a valid Driver's License, must be insurable to obtain Government License. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong math and computer skills, including experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems. Excellent organizational and filing skills. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Experience with inventory management and ordering. Knowledge of marketing and sales promotion strategies. Ability to analyze financial data and make informed business decisions. Understanding of food service and sanitation regulations. Experience with cash handling and banking procedures. Knowledge of labor laws and human resources policies.
