About The Position

Provide technical services under supervision of Registered Nurse and Physician. Assist in the operating room as assigned and directed. May work in Central Sterile Processing and work under job duties of Central Sterile Processing Technician. Job Summary Provide technical services under supervision of Registered Nurse and Physician. Assist in the operating room as assigned and directed. May work in Central Sterile Processing and work under job duties of Central Sterile Processing Technician. Essential Functions Develops an individualized plan with strategies that address diagnoses. Provides for continuity through a plan that directs other members of the team. Implement the plan in a safe and timely manner. Documents implementation and include changes or omissions of the identified plan. Consults with healthcare providers and makes referrals as appropriate. Utilizes appropriate community resources and systems to implement the plan. Treats patients and families with compassion and implements a plan of care. Bases care decisions on plan of care. Monitors and documents patient response. Establishes rapport with clients. Adapts communication style, listens and responds to patient needs. Recognizes age-specific responses to treatment. Provides effective interventions. Respects patients' confidentiality and privacy. Supports social, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients and families. Manages difficult or emotional patient situations. The CST will prepare and assist with surgical procedures in collaboration with Registered Nurse. Pull cases according to doctor preference cards. Maintain and prepare sterile fields. Maintain knowledge of surgical procedures. Anticipate the needs of surgeon. Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, etc.

Requirements

  • Vocational/ Technical Degree from an Accredited Surgical Technology Program. (required)
  • CST - Certified Surgical Technologist (Required)
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of Surgical Technology Experience. (Preferred)
