About The Position

The C-12/ King Air and/or UC-35 Cessna Citation Army Transport Aircraft Mechanic (FAA A&P) Performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on C-12/ King Air 200/350/1900 and/or UC-35 Cessna Citation aircraft. Valid (FAA) A&P Certificate is Required. US Citizenship is Required to obtain a US Govt Secret Security Clearance, required for base access. Is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness. These tasks are performed on avionics & electrical systems, engines, flight controls and airframe components. Repairs are performed using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills. Comply with aircraft records procedures outlined in DA PAM 738-751. Ensure aircraft discrepancies are properly recorded in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and within the terms of the contract. Know and understand the functions and requirements of computerized maintenance software. Perform aircraft recovery missions as necessary. Perform engine run or taxi operations. Meet requirement to obtain certification within 12 months of employment. Reads and interprets manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent is Required.
  • A valid (FAA) A&P Certificate is Required.
  • Union CBA offers 3 levels of A&P mechanic employment, based on years of hands-on experience on the MDS aircraft assigned: Army C-12/King Air B200/350/1900 and/or UC-35 Cessna Citation.
  • AM-1- Two (2) Years of A&P mechanic experience Required, with a minimum of two (2) years specific C-12/King Air or UC-35 hands-on experience preferred.
  • AM-2 - Five (5) years of C-12/King Air or UC-35 specific hands-on A&P aircraft mechanic experience is required.
  • AM-3 - Ten (10) years of FAA A&P mechanic experience, and Thirteen (13) years of specific C-12/King Air or UC-35 aircraft experience is required.
  • A valid Driver's License is Required.
  • Shift Work Required: Must be willing and able to work any shift assigned under the Union CBA. May be required to work an occasional rotating weekend, when required by the flight schedule.
  • (Site currently operates Two shifts: First Shift - 0600-1430 and Second shift-1400 - 2230. Shifts are bid and assigned by seniority).
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance and able to pass/clear the (AR-95-20) Pre-employment Medical. (details below).
  • Must have the ability to move freely about the interior and in the unpressurized area aft of the aft pressure bulkhead and meet aircraft specific specs for weight limit.
  • Mechanic Tools are provided at this work site and are not required.
  • Medical/Physical. All personnel performing engine runs, ground taxi, ordnance loading, or operating self-propelled support equipment within Ten (10) feet of the aircraft silhouette must pass a physical examination from a qualified medical professional prior to conducting these operations, and subsequently on a specified periodic basis, not to exceed Five (5) years. (BMI Body Mass Index below 40 is required).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Govt Secret Security Clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials and authorization. US Citizenship is Required to hold a Secret Clearance, and for facility credentials and authorization to work at this facility.
  • Stand, squat, sit, walk, work with arms overhead for extended periods of time.
  • Pull, push, lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comply with the FAA regulations as applicable.
  • Possesses a valid FAA Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) license and shows compliance with FAR 65.83, recent experience requirements.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to deal with stressful situations and timelines while maintaining professional and non-confrontational attitude.
