About The Position

The Football Analyst/Assistant Position Coach reports to the respective coordinator (offensive, defensive or special teams). The Football Analyst is directly responsible for assisting the football staff with their practice and game preparation, as is permissible under NCAA rules and regulations. Additionally, this position is responsible for analysis, quality control, administrative, and organizational duties. This role is also mandated to adhere to all department and university policies and procedures, as well as the rules, regulations, bylaws and interpretations of the NCAA. Candidate must have the ability and knowledge to break down opponent’s schemes, create detailed reports, complete daily office tasks, create and maintain practice plans and game plans, create playbooks and game books, and assist in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years recruiting or coaching experience in a collegiate or professional football organization OR an equivalent combination of education/experience (must have required degree by start date)
  • Extensive knowledge of player development and practice strategy
  • Extensive knowledge of gameplay strategy
  • Ability to understand and breakdown opponent style and identify weaknesses and opportunities
  • Experience training athletes and working with coaches on a college level

Nice To Haves

  • More than 2 years recruiting or coaching experience in a collegiate or professional football organization

Responsibilities

  • Assist respective coordinator with practice and game prep
  • Film and statistical analysis
  • Participate in position meetings and, as assigned, take on assistant coaching responsibilities during position meetings, practices, and games
  • Research and implement new training methods and football concepts to enhance staff knowledge and team performance
  • Input, edit, and manage practice and game film using DVSport and maintain detailed analysis to support coaching strategies
  • Assist with on-campus recruiting efforts, support football operations staff, and complete special projects or other tasks as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned by the respective Coordinator, Football Head Coach, and/or Athletic Director
