About The Position

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) is a leader in energetic system solutions offered to aerospace and defense customers for a wide array of applications. EBA&D seeks a procurement professional for the position of Buyer, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager at Simsbury, CT location. Responsible for day-to-day supplier relationship management: quality, delivery, and price negotiations, conflict resolution and problem solving. Responsible for executing procurement activities for materials and services for assigned categories in support of EBA&D Electronics Value Stream in Simsbury, CT. Develops and implements sourcing plans, price justification packages, and cost analysis in accordance with the requirements. Coordinates activities with Production, Quality, Engineering, and other internal stakeholders for maximum operational effectiveness. Maintains accurate supplier and material records in Company’s ERP system. Utilizes Company systems to maximize procurement efficiencies. Ensures that all regulatory and company requirements with respect to procurement, storage, and transportation of materials are adhered to (DFAR/FAR/CPSR). Leads or participates in continuous improvement activities to gain expertise and tailor sourcing processes to best fit the organizational requirements. Provides input in the Supplier Development process by continually evaluating suppliers’ performance and facilitating improvements in cost, quality, and delivery.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of experience in Procurement in Manufacturing environment or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent PC skills in MS environment.
• Ability to work independently, be curious, and self-motivated.
• Ability to work in fast pace environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Strong desire to drive process improvements and learn.

Nice To Haves

• Background in Lean Manufacturing concepts desirable.
• CPSM and/or CPCM certification a plus.
