About The Position

As a Buyer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our inventory stays strong, our vendors stay reliable, and our customers stay happy. The Buyer is responsible for sourcing and selecting suppliers, negotiating terms, and ensuring inventory continuity while optimizing cost, quality, and urgency. You’ll also maintain purchasing records to support efficient operations and strategic inventory management.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of buying or purchasing experience in the food service industry, commodities, or import purchasing
- Strong understanding of buying best practices and supply chain operations
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and organization skills
- Proficient in desktop software and purchasing platforms
- Ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Tenacity, diplomacy, and a collaborative mindset are key

- Product knowledge and sourcing experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Maintain daily product ordering from vendors
- Negotiate annual marketing programs to ensure competitiveness and profitability
- Align purchasing with sales needs, inventory plans, and customer fill-rate goals
- Replenish stock promptly and manage new product rollouts and discontinuations
- Negotiate pricing, deals, and promotions to enhance value
- Ensure accurate and timely product delivery by coordinating with vendors, buyers, and transportation partners
- Verify inventory quantities, expiration codes, and product quality
- Monitor and reduce dead or overstock inventory
- Assist with invoice reconciliation and request vendor refunds for losses
- Source and maintain freight rates
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, and other departments
- Provide product details, availability, and vendor info to the sales team
- Create weekly hot sheets for short-dated items
- Maintain a minimum customer service level of 99.5%
