About The Position

The Buyer role involves developing and implementing sourcing strategies for cost-effective material supply, identifying and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to forecast demand. The position also requires monitoring market trends, maintaining purchase records, resolving supplier issues, driving cost-saving initiatives, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a material buyer, procurement specialist or in supply chain
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence suppliers to achieve favorable terms.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in supplier management and contract negotiation.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and systems (e.g., ERP, eSourcing platforms).
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • External applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment visa or other sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to ensure a consistent and cost-effective supply of materials.
  • Identify potential suppliers, conduct supplier evaluations, and negotiate contracts and pricing terms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand raw material requirements and forecast demand.
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and supplier performance to optimize sourcing decisions.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier agreements.
  • Resolve supplier issues, such as quality concerns, delivery delays, and price discrepancies.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvement within the procurement function.
  • Stay updated on regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to raw material sourcing.
